We had a great experience at Darby’s, where we had dinner one evening. Understated from the outside, but you do notice what looks like a huge outdoor smoker or wood fired grill. Inside is great decor, again understated but a beautifully designed space with classic American diner vibes, which I guess makes sense given proximity to the US embassy. The restaurant is a beautiful space, and there is a large in-house bakery as well. The team are super welcoming and friendly. The menu looks great and there is a very good selection of wine, including many by the glass. And the food was excellent. We had the chicken and the pork chop. Both were some of the best I’d had for a long time. The chicken was full of flavour, perfectly cooked, moist and seasoned, in a deep flavoursome sauce. The pork chop was cut off the bone and neatly sliced, but served with the bone. Again, perfectly cooked, slightly crisp on the outside and lovely and soft and moist on the inside. The sides were also perfect, the mash, broccoli and carrots. We then had the rice pudding and the sticky toffee - again excellent. Truly a great meal.

Went for their roast dinner. One of my top 3 ever in London or the UK. I eat a lot of roast dinners, so that’s saying something. The potatoes were out of this world Had county / blues acoustic live music when I was there - LOVED it

One of the best roasts I’ve had in London! Had the holy trinity (a portion of beef, lamb and pork), and it absolutely hit the spot. Sides were quality and their drink list is impressive (Guiness old fashioned was worth a try!). Really cool atmosphere, live music, bread being made behind the scenes.. nothing not to like, we’ll be coming back.

We went for a birthday celebration, food was amazing and the space is real cute. The staff was great and I give them 5 stars as they made some small mistakes which they did solve real quick.

I took my mother to Darby’s for a Sunday Roast on Mother’s Day. I saw people raving about the food on Top Jaw, so I was glad to finally go there and see what it was like. We shared the Lamb Shoulder, which was wonderful! Usually I want lots of roast potatoes with my roast and did ask about it, but they were right - the two very large chips they make, along with the sides were enough. I was glad that, even though the sticky toffee pudding had a pecan on it, it is placed on top and was removed for me, as I have a nut allergy. My comments about it are that it was probably the largest STP I’ve had and was not as light as the others I’ve tried. The restaurant itself is airy and spacious with high ceilings, the vibe in there was very good, the waiting staff were friendly and accommodating and I enjoyed the band. Whoever picked the music whilst the band had a break - they have great taste in music, loved hearing some ska whilst we were there! I don’t live locally but I would make the effort to come back again. Crucially, my mother loved it, too!

A great place to eat . The food was delicious and well presented . The open kitchen makes it a very different experience and it was one I enjoyed.
